Husch Blackwell Building Blocks Award

Honors a real estate project that contributes significantly to the enhancement of the community—fulfilling a significant articulated neighborhood need and demonstrating superior design quality. Project has a significant public benefit and has enhanced the community physically, financially, and/or socially. Project involved a diverse body of contractors, to include those that are community based or minded. Project reflects the use of quality design and building materials. Project takes into consideration environmental concerns, and is safe and healthy for community members. Project must be complete by the award year’s application deadline.

NOMINEE QUESTIONS:
1. Please describe the project and how it has enhanced the community physically, financially and/or socially. Include information on how the project fits into broader neighborhood or city plans.

2: Please list the key partners and investors and their roles. Please also describe the diversity and community engagement of the contracting team.

3. Please describe how the project reflects the use of quality design and building materials, taking into consideration environmental concerns, and community health and safety.

4. What sets this project apart from other worthy MANDI applicants and why should it be lifted up as a winner this year?

Applicants must apply for a new program or project if they have been named as a MANDI finalist within the last five years. Nominations for projects/programs that have been named as finalists in the last five years, will not be considered. Award applications will remain open through April 23rd, 2024 at 12pm (noon). These awards are intended to highlight low to moderate income neighborhoods within the city of Milwaukee. Primary impact area and population served must be within the City of Milwaukee limits. Completion of a MANDI application indicates affirmation and certification that all information and answers to questions herein are complete, true and correct to the best of your knowledge and belief.

Applicants must apply for a new program or project if they have been named as a MANDI finalist within the lastfive years. Nominations for projects/programs that have been named as finalists in the last five years, will not be considered.
